what if a new model comes out and your still waiting for the 3080ti? Yes, it is worth waiting for an RTX card. You should save more money to get your hands on whatever 3090 you can find. It is not a very wise time to purchase a GPU as people are buying things for their kids for christmas, and also themselves.

If you are playing at 1080p or 1440p I would just go with the 3070. You can always sell it if the VRAM is giving you problems 2-3 years down the line. No point in waiting. Bc even when it releases you will still be waiting and waiting.

Since the 3090 is about 7-10% better than the 3080 I would expect the 3080ti to be at most 5% better. IMO there is no reason to go beyond the 3080 unless you just want to be able to brag mine is slightly better to other people. Save the $800 diff and next year get the 4080 then give a friend your old 3080.
